Love (Word of the Day)

Good Morning,

Hoping this finds you all well. The weekend came and went and now Monday is upon us whether or not we’re ready. My writer’s block is officially over. In fact, I have written more each day over the past two weeks.  And as always I am divided.  I am elated to be working through some important issues by way of my craft. The poems are some of my bravest pieces I have ever written. The  journal and essay work, however, is too personal and a bit on the dark side for me to share at this time. But who knows? I may share an excerpt or two when I start putting my next book together. Stay tuned.

Starting today (June 17) through Friday (June 21) you can download my first four books on Kindle free. This is the last of my free promotions. So if you haven’t already, you can find links to all four of them at my Amazon.com Author Central Profile Page

I wrote most off those books ten years ago during the summer of 2003. I have improved over the years but still have a long way to go. One thing that hasn’t changed is the recurring theme  which just so happens to be my word of the day week..So to kick things off here is a poem I wrote on Friday night.

It’s monsoon season in my head
The shape of my face changes with the tide
You believe things I never said
My heart is at war with your mind
You seem to love multiplying my insecurities
with a long list of unnecessary complexities
And when I think of you, I divide
One half of me will laugh
And the other, well… he dies.
The weight of our actions
Twenty-two thousand two-hundred and seventy-nine
pounds of steel shackle me to your will
Despite your chill my love for you grows deeper still.

There you have it folks. Another twist on love. I thought I would do a two-part post for this word of the day week. Today’s definition (provided to you from Merriam Webster Online Dictionary) explores the word love as a noun. At some point this week I will return to explore it once more as a verb.
